We got up at 6:20 this morning to wave good - bye to the others. They were leaving at 6:45 (that will be us tomorrow!). We felt a bit abandonned! Betty went to make our reservations and I did the blog. We went down to the buffet for breakfast and ate a rather modest meal...but I had another pancake which was delicious. I think we are on food overload! The weather was looking a bit "iffy" so we browsed through the shops for a bit - I needed to get a larger carry on so I can reorganize my stuff! I don't want to go over the weight if possible.
We then went up to the pool as the wind was very gusty and we didn't want to get sand all over everything. Every time we got settled, it would begin to rain so we would grab everything and run for cover. Finally we said we were staying put and would just put plastic over our stuff. The rain stopped and the rest of the afternoon was fantastic with very sunny skies. I went for a final swim in the ocean. The water was warm, but very choppy, making actual swimming difficult!
We waited for a big cloud before we headed over for lunch. Because it was Saturday, there seemed to be a more simple meal. We didn't overdo it, each of us concocting a sandwich of sorts.
We read by the pool and suntanned and swam. We were ready to come in by the time the big, threatening clouds and gale force winds blew in. Now we are heading up to the room to try to squeeze all our stuff back into our bags. No way I am lugging my pillow back! But I am glad I have my winter coat!
Thanks you all for reading! Shirlene, you get the award for most loyal and responsive follower!!! Thank you so much for your extensive comments! See you all soon.

This blog is great Karen!
ReplyDeleteScott and I are at home cuddling with Dusty (our kitty) and reliving all of the memories from the past few weeks. I hope you and Betty are enjoying your last night in Jamaica, Mon. The "Showtime presentation" is starting in 15 minutes so I suspect you are sitting by the stage and relaxing with a drink. Maybe it will be the Michael Jackson show again - that was so cool! I feel like I am still there....
Have a safe trip home.
Love,
Scott and Ang
p.s. is it still ok to eat two breakfasts, two lunches, two dinners and midnight nachos now that we're home? :-P
ReplyDeleteI am relaxing at home and reviewing your wonderful blog, Karen!! It is truly a work of art!! I love all the written accounts of our fabulous holiday plus the pics are fab, mon!
ReplyDeleteWell, as a "someone had to stay home" reader of the blog, I must say it was like a virtual tour evey day. An awesome job, Karen. I'm happy to hear that the first batch of travellers made it home safely. As for the "2 meals a day and snack", Scott, I say YES continue...you need the extra fuel to keep warm way un here in the Great White North. Can you believe how cold it is...I think you left for Jamaica when it was still "like Fall".
ReplyDeleteKaren and Betty, sounds like you made the best of your last day...I just love the pics showing not only your very tanned bods but also the beautiful views of blue and more blue! Just gorgeous! In fact, I think I have been quite "good" all week. No envy or jealousy, but, I'm sorry, the description of the Japanese restaurant "broke the camel's back"! After seeing your beautiful tans, big smiles, copious amounts of cocktals...well, a girl can only take so much!!
Of course, I'm kidding. I will not wait until you tans fade to talk to you...I just might not be all that sympathetic once you start to peel!
Seriously, have a safe trip home, see you on Monday. I can hardly wait til I see my PRIZE for being the most "loyal and responsive follower".
love,
Shir
